Does NotarIA replace the notary?
No. NotarIA is an assistant: it is not legal advice, and the notary reviews, signs and decides on every act.
How do you examine a chain of title in Québec?
You reconstruct a property's successive transfers and charges from the Land Register, then check continuity, undischarged charges and the thirty-year period. NotarIA proposes these links and applies deterministic safety nets; the notary confirms and concludes.
Is a location certificate mandatory in Québec?
A location certificate is generally required for a sale or financing to establish the property's current state. Consult a notary or land surveyor for your specific situation.
What does a location certificate contain?
Its report is governed by section 9 of RLRQ c. A-23, r. 10, which sets out 23 items (surveyor metadata, lots, servitudes, encroachments, etc.). NotarIA extracts each item and flags problematic observations, which the notary confirms.
Is NotarIA compliant with Law 25?
